Scott Thomas, P.E., PTOE

Scott Thomas has 10 years of traffic engineering and ITS related experience. Before founding Apex Design, Scott worked as an on-staff consultant for CDOT Region 6 for four years. For the T-REX project, Scott acted as a CDOT liaison to ensure project performance and contract compliance. CDOT’s satisfaction with his engineering abilities is best demonstrated through the issuance of seven consecutive task orders.

His expertise extends from transportation modeling and traffic operations to traffic design and construction administration. He prides himself on providing insightful transportation design solutions for clients that are of benefit to the traveling public.

In addition to engineering consulting, Scott is a faculty member at the University of Colorado at Denver and instructs graduate level courses titled “Traffic Operations and Control” and “Traffic Design and Technology”. His depth of knowledge of traffic engineering coupled with his firsthand experience makes him an excellent project engineer.
