CDOT Region Traffic Engineering NPS

Apex Design has worked for CDOT Regions 1, 4 and 6 as an extension of their traffic engineering staffs to help manage the statewide ramp metering system and act as the citizen and local agency contact. We helped to warrant ramp meters, as well as design, oversee construction, maintain, and even operate the ramp meters in the field as well as the central computer system. We were able to provide CDOT with our design experience and lend a hand in the field too. For example, Scott spent several months installing fiber optic cabling, splicing, and terminating the fiber laterals along the I-225 corridor. He also helped CDOT design, configure, and install wireless communications by programming Spread Spectrum radios and cellular modems along with traditional field telemetry. This intimate familiarity with traffic equipment and field communications is reflected through our quality designs.
