Transportation Engineering Training Program

Our firm worked with the CDOT Transportation Engineering Training Program committee to develop a fiscal program model and six-year budget. With our assistance, the program was taken from a conceptual idea to approved Fiscal Year 2007 funding in four months. The program was implemented and developed core curriculum and specialty area training courses for CDOT engineering staff in several engineering disciplines. We played a critical role in developing the program concept and budget, as well as the method to carry out the course development and instruction. The program was swiftly moved forward through the PE III meeting, the Regional Transportation Directors and Chief Engineer, the CDOT Executive Management Team, and finally the Transportation Commission. As a result of this program’s success, we were asked to help CDOT push forward other major programs, such as a statewide real time GPS network.
