Loveland Ethernet Design
Apex Design successfully provided design and installation oversight of an Ethernet-based fiber system for the city of Loveland, Colorado. The project connected traffic signals and CCTV cameras and included infrastructure upgrades to the Traffic Management Center (TMC). As the lead designer, Apex was responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of system components into the construction of The Shops at Centerra on the NE corner of I-15 and US-34. We specified the core and edge Ethernet switches for the system as well as a new Camera Chameleon server/clients and 42” Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) for high-resolution video display. Apex also designed and installed new cabinets and a cable management infrastructure for the TMC. The success of this project prompted the city to move toward a full IP solution for transportation management. As a result, Apex Design worked closely with the Loveland IT Department to develop a citywide IP addressing scheme for all traffic field devices. |
