Insightful traffic engineering solutions come from experience. This means:

- Knowing what tools to use to solve field issues and the influencing variables

- Choosing the appropriate simulation package and evaluation metrics when modeling and addressing operational issues

- Having a working knowledge of traffic flow theory and engineering principals to apply correct methodologies

- Clearly understanding intended and unintended consequences of design choices

When solving traffic engineering problems, we weight safety and operational impacts to the surrounding environment. Our project approaches are always insightful whether we are proposing alternative signal timings and phasing, working with a neighborhood group to address traffic calming issues, or presenting a complex freeway and arterial network model to public officials.
